| Re-Directing Your Career |
|
Are you exploring options for re-directing your career? Have you considered serving others through Whole Person Health Education or Coaching? If you are a health care professional, allied health professional or educationally qualified candidate, our professionally accredited training in Whole Health Education or Whole Health Coaching can provide you the skills, knowledge, credentials and networking to enjoy a meaningful and fulfilling career in healthcare's fastest growing segment – Disease Prevention through Health and Wellness Education and Coaching. On July 17, 2008 a report made possible through the Robert Woods Johnson Foundation was published identifying Disease Prevention as the most critically important issue in American health care today. On July 31, 2008 Resolution 460 was submitted to the U.S. House of Representatives which calls for establishing Wellness Programs, for all Americans, that address the underlying causal factors associated with chronic disease. Similarly, U.S. World News and Report identified Patient Health Advocacy, Health and Wellness Education and Coaching as "ahead of the curve" careers and projects a growing demand for properly credentialed individuals to fill these rewarding and well-paying positions. Both the American Cancer Society and the National Breast Cancer Coalition train health coaches and endorse patient advocacy to assist those dealing with cancer. Medicare and Medicaid are looking to health coaching as a major deterrent to skyrocketing health care expenditures. Patient health education and coaching became the new focus for disease prevention and health care cost reduction several years ago when Medicare began piloting programs with physicians called "Pay for Performance" incentives. The pay-for-performance incentives reward the doctors for demonstrating improvements in their care outcomes and demonstrating date on how they are educating their patients in disease management and disease prevention. Physicians who demonstrate the best outcomes and best patient education data are rewarded with the highest insurance re-imbursement compared to the physicians who did not demonstrate improved outcomes and patient education data. Currently, in both mainstream health care and private care venues, Health and Wellness Education and Coaching are the modalities of choice in addressing disease prevention and disease management and they are considered the "missing link" necessary to transform the current disease care system to an authentic health care system! "Pay for Performance" re-imbursement, like the now mandatory HIPPA regulations, is currently being piloted on a voluntary basis but soon it will also turn mandatory for all medical practices, just as HIPPA implementation did. To work in this exciting health care specialty, a candidate needs the knowledge, skills and credentials necessary and appropriate to serve others while fulfilling their career goals.
